Hey Jude Let It Be The Best Beginner Beatles Guitar Songs

The Beatles are one of the biggest bands of all time and their songs are still immensely popular more than 40 years since the band broke up. 2 of the biggest hits by the band are hey Jude and let it be. Primarily written by Paul McCartney both of these songs are piano driven mid-tempo sing along tunes which are easy beginner tunes to learn. Even though the original versions of these tunes are piano based they can be easily played on guitar. They are the best beginner Beatles guitar songs to strum with easy and simple chord changes.

The Beatles performing Hey Jude

Hey Jude
Released in 1968 hey Jude is in the key of F which can be awkward on guitar due to several bar chords required to play the song. However by adding a capo to fret 1 of the guitar it becomes an easier tune to play with the beginner open string chords of E B7 A and D.

Watch the video lesson below for a demonstration of the strumming pattern that fits all 3 sections of the verse, bridge and coda. Have fun learning the tune while practicing the chord changes. It’s also a great song to practice changing from E to B7

Hey Jude - The Beatles

Let It Be
Let it be is the title track of the Beatles last released album and has a similar tempo and feel to hey Jude. This song is in the key resulting in the guitar chord friendly key of C. This song includes the chords C Am F and G. If you find either the half bar or full bar version of F too hard to play you can always use the easier to play F major 7 chord in this song.

Watch out for the quicker turn around changes at the end of the verse and chorus. I created an easier way to play these chords moving just a few fingers. Check out the video below for an easy way to play these chords plus an example of how to play the strumming pattern.
